An academic spin-off/VC pitching event
On Wednesday afternoon May 8, the fourth edition of ‘Healthy Ideas, Healthy returns’ (HIHR) will take place in Ghent, Belgium, on the eve of the knowledge for growth life sciences conference.
HIHR is an on invitation-only event where spin-offs from 19 Dutch and Belgian academic research institutes in the biomedical field, including Universities, University Hospital Centres, the Netherlands Cancer Institute, the Flemish Institute for Biotechnology (VIB), the Hubrecht Institute and IMEC will present themselves as investment opportunities to an audience of life sciences investors. Today, 22 projects are being evaluated in order to select 12 VC-ready projects that will be invited to pitch on the event.
Please mark May 8th in your agenda and join us in Ghent. By combining this HIHR event with knowledge for growth, we hope that this will make it easier for you to join both events. Our HIHR event will start early afternoon and finishes around 4.30 pm - in time for a 5-minute walk to the Ghent Townhall for the ‘State of the Union’ meeting that is organized as part of knowledge for growth.
flanders.bio offers a reduced fee to investors who want to combine our HIHR edition to knowledge for growth (25% discount) and/or the State of the Union (with a reduced entrance fee of €45).
Early March, the final programme of the participating spin offs will be sent to you. After registration, we will send you the summaries of the propositions that have been selected for presentation, well in advance of the event. If you want to be assured of a seat, you can sign up by completing the registration form at https://goo.gl/forms/yRAMHL7twlEn2We33 and reserve your place.
Although the event is organized and in part paid for by the academic research organizations involved, we do ask a contribution of €250 to cover our expenses. This contribution will allow you to bring a maximum of 2 people to the event. Business Angels can reserve a single ticket (125 euro).
For this edition of HIHR, we are supported by J-Labs, the life-science incubator of Johnson&Johnson Innovation, who are looking forward to meeting and further collaborating with innovators and other stakeholders to empower life-enhancing and wellness solutions to people around the world. There are opportunities to support our initiative as well. Please contact Claar-els van Delft via firstname.lastname@example.org in case you are interested in sponsor options.
