Kick-off event ALCOVE INTERREG project
We are delighted to invite you to the kick-off event of ALCOVE INTERREG project which aims to redefine lung cancer screening. Coordinated by Lille University Hospital, the project is managed by Prof. Sebastien Hulo from the Functional Respiratory Investigation Unit of the Heart & Lung Institute.

This event will provide a unique opportunity to:

ALCOVE:
ALCOVE project – redefining lung cancer screening – aims to improve the management of patients with lung cancer, which is often diagnosed at an already late stage, by promoting an accessible early detection solution. The project ALCOVE develops a non-invasive detection method based on the analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the exhaled breath using aunique device: the electronic nose.
Supported by a cross-border consortium of 17 partners from Hauts-de-France, Grand-Est, Wallonia and Flanders, the project is part of a scientific and medical cooperation initiative. Objectives include the miniaturisation and clinical validation of this prototype electronic nose to then make it operational and available to healthcare professionals from the region.
Our project aims at reducing barriers to screening, improve early detection of lung cancer and ease future integration of the electronic nose in clinical routine and screening programmes.
