The Lim lab is looking for a full-time research technician to support general lab management and scientific projects related to neuronal development. Our lab is interested in the developmental programs that shape inhibitory circuits in the brain. We use various interdisciplinary techniques such as mouse genetics, high content imaging, single cell RNA sequencing, and spatial transcriptomics technologies.
Responsibilities
The function is responsible for independently performing:
- management of transgenic mouse colonies, including ear tagging, genotyping, and writing animal protocols or amendments,
- in vivo mouse work – such as stereotaxic brain injection,
- histology techniques including vibratome section preparation, immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence, in situ hybridization, and confocal microscopy imaging
- molecular biology cloning, and in vitro cell culture for virus production
- data processing, including data analysis, data interpretation and presentation.
Finally, the function is also responsible for performing various general laboratory tasks such as general maintenance, replenishing consumables and ordering additional materials and reagents.
