Research & discovery Associate Scientist - Formulation Development
Job Description
- You will join a dynamic young team and report to the formulation development manager.
- You will support the development of new drug delivery formulations (drug products) for different applications in the medical field in R&D environment, under the guidance of senior scientists.
- You will be working on innovative solid and/or liquid formulations for both new biological molecules and new small molecules.
- You will execute different kind of pharmaceutical processes for both liquid and solid drug product (DP) development & manufacturing. Examples are:
- Solutions, suspensions, emulsions, SEDDS,…
- Powders, tableting, capsule manufacturing, film-coating, spray-drying, lyophilization, wet granulation, dry granulation,…
- You will be involved in screening of formulation compositions, process development and optimization, and productions for stability studies.
- You will develop and execute DP characterization methods to evaluate the profile and stability of the different drug products.
- The function consists of carrying out experimental work in a high-tech environment together with data interpretation and reporting of the performed experiments.
- The function includes also support of clinical production in a GMP environment after a training period. Activities include: material dispensing, execution of the DP manufacturing processes, packaging, equipment installation and cleaning, product samplings, and completion of batch records.
Qualifications
- You have a Bachelor’s degree with scientific orientation (Pharmaceutical and biological lab technology, chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology …) or equivalent by experience.
- You have a strong interest in drug research and development and the associated production and characterization technologies.
- You work accurately, you are technically minded and able to work independently after training in the matter entrusted to you.
- Hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical R&D or production environment is an asset.
- You are flexible.
- You have experience with software such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- You can communicate in Dutch and English (both written and orally)
