Your role as Senior Scientist

As a Senior Scientist, you play a central role within our scientific project teams. Together with the Project Manager, you translate project requirements into laboratory work and ensure that high-quality results are generated and documented. You act as the scientific reference point within the team, combining hands-on expertise with the ability to guide and inspire colleagues.

Your responsibilities include:

• Contributing to projects in both early-stage process/formulation development and clinical development.
• Translating the project manager’s directions into well-designed laboratory trials.
• Executing, analyzing and interpreting experiments in collaboration with the scientific project team.
• Writing scientific reports and documenting outcomes to support client communication.
• Acting as the scientific reference point within the team, ensuring robust and reliable results.
• Staying up to date with relevant scientific literature and industry innovations.
• Expanding your expertise in process and formulation technologies through internal and external training opportunities.

This role offers the opportunity to combine hands-on scientific work with strategic project involvement, making you an essential link between project management and laboratory execution.

PROFILE

• Master’s degree in Sciences (bio-engineering, biomedical or pharmaceutical sciences) or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of relevant, hands-on experience in formulation and/or process development within the pharma, biotech or food industry.
• Solid knowledge of processing techniques (e.g. spray drying, extrusion, coating) and/or analytical methods (e.g. UPLC, DSC, in-vitro dissolution) is a strong plus.
• Able to work independently after training, with the maturity to guide and support colleagues within the team.
• Strong organizational skills: capable of combining different tasks and priorities effectively.
• Flexible, problem-solving and critical mindset, while maintaining accuracy and quality focus.
• Creative, curious and eager to keep learning.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic, a true team player with a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
