Axithra was born as a spin-off from the world leading Photonics Research Group at Ghent University and the Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre (imec).

Our mission is to revolutionize therapeutic drug monitoring by providing healthcare professionals with a platform that quickly and accurately measures and monitors drug concentrations in blood at the point of need.

Our proprietary optics and photonics technology paves the way for personalized healthcare, where clinicians can tailor treatments to the specific needs of individual patients at any given time and place. Our lead application focuses on personalizing β-lactam antibiotic treatment in the intensive care unit and addresses the unmet but crucial need for actionable therapeutic drug monitoring.
